Delete your account and data

You can delete your Lethe Live account at any time — in the app, or by email if you can’t use the app. Deletion can’t be undone.

In the app

  1. Open Lethe Live and go to Profile → Account.
  2. Tap Delete account, and confirm with your passcode, Face ID or fingerprint.
  3. Tap Delete everything.

To keep your memories, tap Export a backup first on the same screen. The file is yours and does not depend on your account.

By email

Write to support@lethelive.com with the subject “Delete my account”. Write from the address on your account if you can. If you signed in with Apple or Google and aren’t sure which address that is, tell us which one you used and your username.

We then write to the address on the account to confirm that the request comes from you. Once you confirm, we delete the account and its Cloud Backup, and email you the result. If we can’t confirm the request, nothing is deleted.

If you use Apple’s Hide My Email and cannot receive our confirmation message, delete your account in the app.

We can’t reach your phone, so memories stored on it stay there until you delete the app.

What is deleted

  • Your account on our server — your Lethe Live identifier, email address, username, and the links to Apple or Google sign-in.
  • Your Cloud Backup, if you have one — every version, every photo and video, and the key material that protects them.
  • When you delete in the app, every memory on that phone. The server is deleted first, and the phone is erased only once the server has confirmed. If the connection drops in between, nothing on the phone is removed until the deletion can be confirmed.

What deleting your account does not reach

  • Backup files you exported yourself stay wherever you saved them.
  • Memories on another phone stay on that phone. Lethe Live does not synchronise between devices, so deleting on one phone cannot reach another; delete the app there too.
  • If your Cloud Backup was ever recovered by signing in on a new phone, the record of that recovery — when it happened and which keys were asked for — is kept. It holds your former account identifier, but no email address, username or device details.
  • Crash reports already sent are not linked to your account, and expire on their own schedule (see the Privacy Policy).
  • Emails you exchanged with support stay in our support mailbox.

Delete only your Cloud Backup

To keep your account and the memories on your phone but remove everything stored in the cloud, go to Profile → Privacy & Data → Delete cloud backup. It is deleted permanently, including all saved versions, and is not rebuilt until you turn Cloud Backup back on.
